Architectural Details: Exploring Architecture in Art
Date: Sunday, December 08, 2013
Time: 1:00 pm - 2:00 pm
Speaker: Museum Educator
Type: Afternoon Salon
From Raphael to Lyonel Feininger, artists have used architecture to depict not only a sense of place but also psychological states. The grandeur of Rome, the modernity of Paris and the intimacy of a summer house in Normandy are all conveyed through the rendering of architectural details. Discover the impact of architecture on the art within the walls of the Museum, and end with a discussion of the architecture of the Museum itself and its impact on the visitor’s experience.
Meets in Entrance Gallery | The program is free with admission and limited to 20 participants. | Please sign up at the Information Desk no later than 15 minutes prior to each session.
