Though the identity of this female figure remains unclear, owing to the absence of iconographic attributes, she may represent a Hindu goddess such as Parvati or Lakshmi. Khmer artists had established, by this time, a general artistic style for the appearance of goddesses, which this statue demonstrates through its articulated monobrow and elongated earlobes.
