Discover approaches to drawing the human head and hands with artist Richard Houston. Working from masterworks in the Museum’s collections, students explore drawing heads and hands through a series of discussions, demonstrations and exercises.

Into the 19th and 20th Centuries
The final session addresses the changing approaches used by 19th- and 20th-century artists in depicting heads and hands. In the 19th-century galleries, students explore the work of Édouard Manet and Edgar Degas. They conclude their studies by looking at Picasso’s Bust of a Woman and Modigliani’s Portrait of the Artist’s Wife.


Meets in Entrance Gallery | All levels of experience are welcome. Each class is $20 ($16 for members), and space is limited to 18 participants.
