One of the most influential artists of the 17th century, Caravaggio inspired artists to emulate the effects he achieved with the dramatic use of light and shadow. Learn about artists whose works reflect his influence including giants Rembrandt, Rubens, and Ribera; as well as Caravaggisti, those who imitated his style. Even without works by Caravaggio, his impact will be evident.
