Encounters with the Collection: Zurbarán's "Still Life with Lemons, Oranges and a Rose"
In this short video, Curator Gloria Williams Sander looks at Francisco de Zurbarán’s exquisite Still Life with Lemons, Oranges and a Rose from 1633. While the artist depicts the objects in rigorous balance and without extraneous detail, upon closer examination the painting evokes religious motifs and meaning.
