Engage with various depictions of the face within the Norton Simon’s collection. Consider how the artist has employed their medium of choice, color, texture and composition to affect how the viewer meets (or does not meet) the gaze of the sitter. Stops will include sculptures of the Buddha as well as portraits by Pierre-Auguste Renoir, Vincent van Gogh, Édouard Manet, Amedeo Modigliani and others.
