When her father is hanged for murdering his wife, the stunning beauty Pearl (Jennifer Jones) is taken in by a wealthy Texan, his wife and their two grown sons (Gregory Peck and Joseph Cotten). But Pearl soon becomes trapped in an emotional triangle between her love for one son and her lust for the other.

This film is presented as part of our Board of Trustees Film Series. In 1971 Norton Simon married Academy Award–winning actress Jennifer Jones. When the Norton Simon Museum opened a few years later, some familiar names in Hollywood were appointed to its board of trustees. In honor of the Museum’s 50th anniversary, enjoy a series of films selected from the extraordinary creative output of some of those trustees. Presented on select Friday evenings from May to July.
