Rembrandt Etchings - Old and New Testament Scenes

Rembrandt's superb Descent from the Cross by Torchlight  is included in a new exhibition of his etchings at the Norton Simon Museum. The twenty-six Old and New Testament subjects range from the drama of the Three Crosses  to the delicacy of St. Jerome Reading in an Italian Landscape.  The rare, rich impressions printed in Rembrandt's lifetime demonstrate his complete mastery of the etching process.
