Virtual Tour: All Consuming: Snyders's Still Life with Fruits and Vegetables

Associate Curator Maggie Bell highlights the spectacular Still Life with Fruits and Vegetables (1625–35) by the 17th-century Flemish artist, Frans Snyders, which engages a range of themes relating to the growing, selling and making of food. This still life celebrates the comfort of plentiful fruits and vegetables available to the wealthy, while making veiled reference to the land and labor that produced such abundance.
