Virtual Tour: Goya's "Los Caprichos"

In this short video, Curator Gloria Williams Sander takes a close look at Francisco de Goya's “There They Go Plucked” from “Los Caprichos,” the print series in which the Spanish artist satirizes his country’s outdated social customs, superstitions and the absence of reason. The Norton Simon’s extensive collection of Goya’s etching offers an opportunity to compare this image in different editions—a first and second edition print alongside a first edition print later hand tinted.
