Accounting, Senior Accountant, Full Time

Summary

Reporting to the Controller, this non-exempt, full-time position assists in accounting and investment functions.

 Responsibilities:

• Assists Chief Financial Officer and Controller in accounting and investments functions
• Prepares monthly journal entries for two foundations
• Prepares monthly financial statements for two foundations
• Assists in the accounting oversight of the investment portfolio for two foundations and the Museum, including analysis, reconciliation and reporting of investment activities and performance
• Inputs investment transactions for approval for two foundations and the Museum
• Prepares various financial reports for the annual audits of two foundations
• Assists with the preparation of financial reports needed for various tax filings and other state regulatory reporting
• Prepares various financial reports for board meetings
• Prepares monthly bank reconciliations for two foundations and the Museum
• Prepares quarterly sales tax returns and submits payment for two foundations and the Museum
• Processes check requests for two foundations, ensuring accurate and timely payment
• Prepares insurance renewal applications for two foundations and the Museum
• Processes daily attendance reports and produces spreadsheets for the Museum
• Processes Garden Café reports for the Museum
• Executes special projects, as needed

Qualifications

Position requires good judgment and communication, ability to maintain a high degree of discretion, and excellent finance (math) and computer skills.  Prefer college degree and minimum five years prior experience in accounting or finance.

Physical Requirements

This position is in an indoor office setting, with frequent use of office equipment including computer, keyboard, and mouse. May involve long periods of sitting and standing. Must be able to bend, twist, reach, and lift up to 15 pounds. 

Schedule

This position is scheduled to work on-site from 9:00 am to 5:30 pm.
