Georges Braque

Held at the Pasadena Art Museum, this exhibition focused on work by Georges Braque (1882–1963), a leading figure of twentieth-century European painting. The retrospective displayed 33 works created between 1906 and 1939 and included oil paintings, bronze sculptures, drawings, etchings, color lithographs and an enamel plate. It was the first major exhibition of Braque’s work in Southern California, assembling works from 24 lenders, including the Los Angeles County Museum of Art, the private collector Norton Simon and the Frank Perls Gallery.
